Can You Spray Paint Vertical Blinds

The best methods for painting vertical blinds are using spray paint on them or stenciling them to create an interesting design.

Well i spray painted the vertical blinds. You just need to hang the blinds in a way to be able to open and close the blinds. Start painting the blinds by spraying the paint in even coats using an up or down motion and continuing in the same direction all throughout the whole blind surface. Instead of running out and buying a new color you can paint them instead. Use what you have on hand. I was very pleased with the paint itself. You will need 2 or 3 coats because fabric absorbs the paint very quickly and it will dry lighter than the color you paint.

I let it dried a bit before closing the blinds and spraypainting again. Yes you can cover up a dark color with a light one or vice versa. However the blinds took on a little puckered look in spots. I used two trestles and some leftover wood.

In the next picture the left side has 2 coats and the right side only one. It did a beautiful job of changing white blinds to pale gold or honey color. Start by getting your blinds ready for painting and then move on to painting. It will probably require more coats though.

Whether vinyl or fabric vertical blinds can be transformed with a coat of paint. If the fabric is scuffed up and fluffy look for a water based acrylic fabric spray paint and wet the fabric down first to flatten it. For extra depth try lightly sponge painting them with wall paint. The spray paint also made the strings stiff so that does affect the how easily the blinds raises and lowers.

And then spray until the brown is gone. Step 5 leave the paint to dry completely overnight. When deciding to spray paint what you have instead of buying new you need to calculate the cost of supplies and your time as to whether that outweighs the expense of new blinds. Specialty paints designed to adhere to the specific type of surface such as fabric paints for fabric or spray.
